Connectivity

Managed Connectivity

With more communication and financial transactions taking place on line every day, a fast, reliable Internet connection is essential for any business. We partner with a leading UK supplier of managed IP services to provide our customers with robust managed connectivity based on ADSL, FTTC and Fibre Optic technologies. In addition to direct Internet access we can also offer engineered broadband and ‘virtual cloud’ solutions capable of connecting together multiple branch offices. See below for our several connectivity options.
  • Fully Managed Service
  • UK Based Support
  • Telemetry and monitoring as standard

Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC)

FTTC 80

  • Up to 80Mb/s downstream
  • Up to 20Mb/s upstream
  • Up to 8 static IP addresses

FTTC 40

  • Up to 40Mb/s downstream
  • Up to 10Mb/s upstream or up to 2Mb/s upstream
  • Up to 8 static IP addresses

FTTC

We offer up to 80Mb/s Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) with up to 20Mb/s upstream. This service uses fibre connections to the street cabinet, significantly reducing the copper usage resulting in high speed access. Please note that speeds vary considerably depending on the line, technology available and distance from the exchange.

FTTC provisions require an engineer visit to the local street cabinet and end user site.

We offer the following product variants:

Leased Lines & Ethernet

EFM

Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) mixes new and old technologies to provide uncontended symmetric circuits with guaranteed bandwidth allowing Quality of Service (QoS). We offer speeds from 1Mb/s to 35Mb/s* over multiple copper pairs.

FTTC Ethernet

FTTC Ethernet brings a lower cost, predicatable last mile technology to BT’s National Ethernet Network. This provides true uncontended, symmetric and guaranteed bandwidth at speeds of up to 20Mb/s with lead times of 25 working days. Please note that you need a dedicated PSTN line.

ADSL Backup

2Mb/s leased lines and Ethernet circuits are available with an IPStream Connect MAX Premium backup. Customers with business critical services requiring 99.99% service availability are advised to take this option.

We offer circuits from 2MB/s to 1GB/s and are suitable for direct Internet access, MPLS VPNs and point to point connections. We provision circuits from all of the major UK carriers at the most competitive pricing in the channel. We offer a 99.9% Service Level Agreement (SLA) on our leased circuits and 99.99% with a failover option. Services are available managed with a router or unmanaged as ‘wires only’. All managed circuits are proactively monitored 24/7.

Fibre Ethernet

Generally more suitable for higher speed access and at the upper end of the price scale. Fibre Ethernet provides a circuit end-to-end, from Premises to POP (Point of Presence) or premises to premises (Point-to-Point). Most carriers will use BT Openreach to deliver the local fibre circuit that terminates the circuit in the end user premises and others will provide their own fibre. Many will do both depending on the reach of their own networks.
